UP Bio-Energy Policy 2022 — Incentive Assistance
Capacity-linked capital subsidy, land facilitation, and feedstock aggregation support for CBG, biomass, and waste-to-energy projects — we help you secure feedstock and offtake before you commit to capacity.
The Uttar Pradesh Bio-Energy Policy, 2022 covers Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG), bio-CNG, biomass pellets and briquettes, biodiesel, ethanol-adjacent projects, and waste-to-energy. It is administered by UPNEDA, with the Additional Sources of Energy Department.
Key incentives
- Capital subsidy: per unit of installed capacity — capacity-linked rather than purely investment-linked
- Land facilitation: on government land
- Stamp & electricity duty: exemption
- Feedstock support: facilitation for parali/agri-residue aggregation, and press mud/cattle dung linkages for CBG
Who it's for
- Project developers setting up production plants above the notified minimum capacity, in CBG, bio-CNG, biomass, biodiesel, or waste-to-energy
Most bio-energy projects fail on feedstock security and the offtake agreement, not on capital — the policy converges with SATAT (CBG offtake via oil marketing companies) and GOBARdhan.
How we help
- Assessing feedstock supply chain security before you finalise project capacity
- Helping line up an offtake agreement, including SATAT-linked CBG offtake where relevant
- Preparing your application for UPNEDA / the Additional Sources of Energy Department
Message us your project type and feedstock plan, and we'll tell you — free of charge — whether you qualify and what the next step looks like.
