UP Startup Policy 2026: Complete Guide — Incentive Assistance
₹1,000 crore Startup Fund, seed funding up to ₹15 lakh (₹50 lakh for strategic projects), and a monthly sustenance allowance — we handle DPIIT recognition guidance, documentation, and filing.
The Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy, 2026 replaces the 2020 policy (First Amendment 2022) with a larger fund and a new dedicated nodal agency, the UP Startup Mission — an autonomous body under the Societies Registration Act, taking over from UP Electronics Corporation Ltd, under the IT & Electronics Department.
Key incentives
- Startup Fund: ₹1,000 crore for early-stage capital support
- Seed funding: up to ₹15 lakh (raised from ₹7.5 lakh); up to ₹50 lakh for projects of strategic importance
- Prototype grant: up to ₹10 lakh (doubled from the earlier policy)
- Sustenance allowance: ₹20,000/month (raised from ₹17,500), for up to 2 years
- Incubator/accelerator support: capital and operational assistance for setting up and running incubators
Who it's for
- DPIIT-recognised startups meeting the DPIIT age and turnover conditions
- Typically incubated at a state-recognised incubator
- Incubators, accelerators, and Centres of Excellence themselves, which are separately recognised and supported
The policy is sector-agnostic but prioritises emerging technologies aligned with the state's IT, electronics, and AI push.
How we help
The two gating conditions — DPIIT recognition and incubator association — trip up more founders than the funding application itself. We help you get both in place first, then handle the rest:
- Guidance through DPIIT recognition, including the age/turnover eligibility check
- Connecting you with a state-recognised incubator where you don't already have one
- Preparing your seed funding / prototype grant application for the state startup portal
- Checking whether you can also claim MSME or IT policy benefits for dissimilar heads, under the no-duplication rule
Message us your startup stage and what you've built so far, and we'll tell you — free of charge — whether you qualify and what the next step looks like.
